Not quite as elegant as pictured Jul 07, 2008
The dress is comprised of two parts. The sheer silk overdress is pretty, but it is practically useless and overpriced because the slip dress, worn underneath, is a cheap peace of junk. It is shapeless and clingy and the fabric is less than luxurious. The rhinestone buttons on the overdress were loose, and I had to sew them back on before I could wear the dress. The overdress is actually kind of limp. The picture makes it look like it has volume to the skirt - that retro fifties look, but it actually hangs straight. I ended up wearing it over an A-line taffeta coctail dress, with a creneline underneath, which created that mid century glamour that I was going for.
